St. Francis School was founded in 1887 and has been under the care of the Sisters of Notre Dame since its beginning. Five Sisters of Notre Dame collaborate with twelve dedicated lay men and women to carry out the mission of the school. We provide a total education, which includes growth in religious awareness and an appreciation of morals and values. We are here to serve the children of the city.
The building, remodeled in 1970, has 9 classrooms, a library, a state- of- the- art computer room, interactive white boards in every classroom, a wireless network throughout the entire building, an art room, a gymnasium, a cafeteria, and a chapel.
We emphasize academic achievement by offering the basic curriculum with the addition of Spanish for every grade level. Students may participate in Power of the Pen, National Geography Bee, Modern Woodmen Speech Contest, Math Olympics. We endeavors to meet the individual needs of each student by providing: Speech and Language Programs, Title One Reading and Math Services, and Counseling Services. CYO Basketball for girls and boys and Cheerleading is also offered. To assist working parents, we offer an extended- day program from 2:20-5:30 pm. and a hot lunch program.
St. Francis School has a cost-based, needs-based tuition program. We participate in the Cleveland Scholarship and Tutoring Program which provides tuition assistance in the form of vouchers to needy families. Financial aid is available for every non-voucher family.
