St. Mel School
St. Mel School leads students to successful adulthood through quality academics, spiritual development, and service to others.

St. Mel School was built back in 1949 dedicated to a faith-based education for every student. Developing the whole child was and continues to be our goal – spiritually, intellectually, socially, and physically. Educating youngsters in the 21st Century is a daunting task, but a duty we take seriously. This is inherent in the common bond we forge with our parents and community. We encourage visitors to our school, because we want others to see the work of our dedicated staff.

St. Mel School is accredited by the State of Ohio and the Cleveland Scholarship and Tutoring Program (voucher program); we have 200 students, a staff of 25, including 11 full time classroom teachers, who support our rigorous K-8 curriculum.

Technology is a very important part of our curriculum. Our computer lab has 30 Macintosh computers networked to a file server. Computer instruction occurs in all grade levels, most twice a week, by a certified computer instructor. An Enrichment Program for academically talented students in grades 3 thru 8 is offered twice a week to students meeting the criteria. Our Auxiliary Program with Cleveland Metropolitan School District provides special education services, remedial math/reading, speech, an RN, and a psychologist.
