Founded in 1950, St. Leo the Great School provides quality education in grades pre-K to 8 for the communities of Old Brooklyn, Brooklyn, Parma, and the near west side of Cleveland. Conveniently located near I-480 and I-176, we offer voucher assistance through the Cleveland Scholarship and Tutoring Program.
Our staff includes 22 full-time teachers certified by the State of Ohio who hold various levels of certification in Religious Education. In addition to academic curriculum content based on State of Ohio and Diocesan Curricular Standards, we provide full-time standards-based programs in art, music, technology, and physical education for all grade levels. Special services include two full-day kindergartens; before and after-care (latchkey) availability; tutoring programs and Homework Club; a full time teacher in Title I remedial reading and math; a full time learning disabilities teacher; psychological services; and speech and language remediation.
Of primary importance to our mission is the cultivation and nurturing of faith through Christ's teachings and the sharing of the Good News by our actions. Working together with the family, we prepare students to become contributing members of future communities based on strong personal faith, a love for God, and respect for others.
