St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School
is committed to modeling and teaching Catholic morals and values while creating a warm, kind and respectful environment that honors the dignity of each individual. We promote academic achievement and spiritual development that will help students influence the world in a truly Christian manner.
St. Thomas Aquinas School was established in 1928 and has been serving the children of the Superior/St. Claire corridor as well as the Hough and Glenville neighborhoods ever since. Originally established to educate children of Irish immigrants, St. Thomas Aquinas has changed as the neighborhood has changed. Currently, we serve 230 predominantly non-Catholic, African-American children in Kindergarten through Eighth Grade.
St. Thomas Aquinas is a Catholic School where students, regardless of their faith tradition, have the opportunity to grow spiritually while living Gospel values. We are committed to non-violence and peaceful resolutions to conflict. We continuously strive for academic achievement for all children. Our students have shown growth in both Math and Reading over the past four years as shown on the IOWA Test of Basic Skills. We are unique in that we offer a split-gender program for 6th-8th graders. The majority of our graduates go on to attend Catholic High Schools.
St. Thomas Aquinas is accredited by the Ohio Catholic School Accrediting Association and participates in the Cleveland Scholarship and Tutoring Program.
